Palliative care also includes support for the family after the loss of the child &#8211; during the period of mourning.<\/p>\n<p>The goals of palliative care for children are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to improve the quality of life of the child and his or her family by reducing the suffering caused by the illness;<\/li>\n<li>offer comprehensive support to help the child live as fully as possible until death;<\/li>\n<li>control of the symptoms of the disease to such a level that the child can be at home with the family, minimizing the time spent in hospital;<\/li>\n<li>to offer constant psychosocial and spiritual support to the family during the child&#8217;s illness, at the time of death and after death &#8211; during mourning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Palliative care services for families at home are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
